Even my mom, who hates all sports with a fiery passion and wouldn’t be seen dead at a European soccer game, went to a baseball game when she visited the U.S. with me.
“Mom? What are you doing here?” I asked her.
“I’m in America, girl. This is what you do when you come to America.”
She had a point. But the thing is – she enjoyed herself. She had fun.
American’s are often unsure what European’s think of their sports. After all, baseball isn’t really popular outside the U.S. (except in Japan), while American Football is, well, only played in America.
But tourists absolutely love to take in an American sports game. It’s like a rite of passage. It’s fun.
Unless a game finishes 0-0. In which case, it totally isn’t fun. At all.
