1. PHTHALATES – These chemicals are often found in nail polishes and perfumes that have synthetic fragrances and there are risks to applying makeup with this ingredient. 2. TRICLOSAN – Triclosan is another well-known chemical that is used in cosmetics, deodorants and antibacterial soaps and there are several reasons why you should not buy makeup with this chemical. Triclosan is considered a pesticide and is often used to eliminate mold, and if you have struggles with thyroid hormones, you should not buy makeup that has Triclosan. This chemical causes abnormal breast development and it hurts your metabolism, which is not good for weight loss.

3. LEAD – This is a harmful ingredient that is found in hundreds of cosmetics by various manufacturers and the kinds of cosmetics that include lead include lipsticks, nail polishes and even eyeliners. Some of the consequences of lead exposure in cosmetics include learning problems, rise in miscarriages among women, certain cancers, and late puberty in girls.
