While everyone tends to think of Lake Tahoe when it comes to California, Mammoth Mountain is actually a great hit for families. Known as a blue collar mountain it has tons of terrain and tubing for all. You will find the lower mountain is a great beginner area and then you even have one of the most extensive terrain parks in the world. It is a paradise for all levels.
Sun Valley is the oldest major ski resort in all of the Rocky Mountains. With a rich history and tons of condos and cottages, you will find this to be an affordable winter getaway. You will be amazed at how much Idaho has to offer and you can even send kids to ski camp so they are immersed in the culture.
