There have been some unique cosmetics collaborations with amazing limited edition collections that have paired artists and designers with the big companies. Since makeup is an art form, it is only natural that artists who use color and style would work together to create artistic makeup for those in the know. Here are some great collaborations that should not be missed:
1. ALBER ELBAZ FOR LANCÔME
Lancome is a classic, so being paired with Alber Elbaz, who is anything but traditional and classic, created some amazing pieces. Elbaz designs for Lanvin, which is a design house with quirky creations. Elbaz’s illustrations and style became the inspiration for the Hypnose collection from Lancome. Look for bold colors on false eyelashes, eye shadows, and mascaras.

2. ANDY WARHOL FOR NARS
Andy Warhol’s 15 minutes of fame are long gone, but his namesake foundation worked with NARS to create a line of cosmetics inspired by Warhol’s art. The makeup palettes have colors from the pop art designs and Factory colors. The containers are also inspired by his work. 3. FAFI FOR MAC
Fafi is a graffiti artist and MAC created a line of cosmetics of the fafinette pin-up girls look that was created by the popular artist. This collection was a limited edition and the pieces are still highly desired by MAC fans today.
4. KARL LAGERFELD FOR SHU UEMURA
Karl Lagerfeld not only collaborated with this high end cosmetics company, he photographed the collection, too. This team created the Mon Shu Uemura collection, which is full of gorgeous pieces like nail stickers, lipsticks, eye shadows, and more.
