- Eat Then Run
A common mistake some runners make is by not consuming enough calories before running. It is better to eat a good meal before you start running. As for the kind of food you should eat for running, proteins are ideal to eat since proteins naturally boost your energy levels. Other good foods you should eat include fruits, nuts, dairy foods and complex carbs. Be sure to eat small portions to avoid fatigue before running.
- Take A One to Two Week Break
It is not a good idea to go overboard in your running routine because it will make running harder and less exciting for you. If you have been running everyday for the past few weeks, you want to take a one to two week break so that your body will rejuvenate itself. After the break, you should resume running and you want to stretch for ten minutes before doing the running.
- Stay Hydrated
Another thing you want to do before and during your running routine is to stay hydrated by drinking water. Water keeps you hydrated and you want to have a cold bottle or two handy while exercising.
