The camera sees the world differently than the eye; therefore, when you know you are going to be photographed you can spend a little more time getting your makeup just right. When you are on your way to a special event that will be loaded with cameras, you certainly want to get your makeup photography ready because the digital photos will make their way around social media whether you look good or not. Here are the tricks and tips to get your face ready for Facebook and beyond:

1. START WITH A BLANK CANVAS

You first step is to get your face clean. Follow through with your entire cleansing routine. Then use a primer so your makeup, especially your foundation, will stay in place all day through all of the snapped photos.

2. NO SPF

Even if you are dedicated to wearing sunscreen every day, on those special occasion days, leave those products at home. The foundations that have SPF do not create beautiful photography looks; they actually create a washed out look. HD foundations are ideal for photos. You should also use a moisturizer that does not contain sunscreen, too.

3. APPLY POWDER

A glowing, happy smile is a great asset, but you do not want a shiny face. When you know you will be in the photos, do two things. One, apply matte powder over your face so you can set your makeup. Then, pack some touch-up papers that will absorb any oil that you might develop on your face through the day. Only use a loose powder because pressed powders will make you look washed out.

4. USE WHITE EYE LINER

To stay bright eyed, try a white eyeliner pencil. A white pencil line on the inner rims will prevent redness from showing up in the pictures.
