Following a gluten-free diet may be frustrating at the onset but with enough time and patience, you will find various foods and substitutes that are gluten-free. Gluten-free diet simply means embracing a diet filled with vegetables, fruits, fish, beans, fresh meat, and poultry. Avoid processed or mixed foods and opt for alternatives that are natural and gluten-free. Celiac disease, if left untreated, may lead to severe complications like infertility, osteoporosis, and even cancer. As much as you craved for pasta, pretzels, and bread and the more you missed cookies, crackers, and cakes, it is best to avoid these “treats” and maintain a healthy, gluten-free body.
