In order to work as a cosmetologist in most states, you will need a license to practice and in order to take your state’s licensing exam you would attend an accredited cosmetology school in your state. On average you will pay $50 per credit hour when you enroll in cosmetology and some cosmetology school offer discounts on tuition and you can fund your education with educational grants from the federal government or private organizations.
